UF30E Uitvlugt 1985 27 Year Old (70cl, 60.7%)

A 27-year-old rum distilled in 1985 at the Uitvlugt distillery in Guyana and bottled in 2012 by Velier. It was distilled from molasses from sugar nurtured in field #30 East, hence the name UF30E, and comes from three barrels aged entirely under the tropical sun. Only 814 bottles were produced. The release is bottled at 60.7% ABV and belongs to the Velier Demerara collection from the period when Velier held a stake in Demerara Distillers Ltd. It shows licorice, cinnamon, anise and citrus on the nose, with molasses, vanilla, woodiness and coffee on the palate, and an enduring finish.
