Uncharted Whisky Blue Collection Aultmore 8 Year Old Batch 1 (70cl, 46%)

This is the first batch of the Blue Collection from The Uncharted Whisky Co., an independent bottler based in Fintry. It is a single malt from Aultmore, a Speyside distillery, made by marrying three ex-bourbon casks. The spirit was distilled on 6 March 2017, matured for eight years and bottled in 2025 at 46% ABV. Just 640 bottles were filled, with no further maturation, no added colour and no chill-filtration. The three casks were chosen for their light, fruity character and sweet finish. Tasting notes describe pear drops, pineapple and lemonade on the nose. The palate is soft and warming, with freshly baked lemon cake, floral notes and oak, and the finish brings gentle esters, pear, oak, mild vanilla and barley malt.
