Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch is a Tennessee whiskey distilled, matured and bottled by Uncle Nearest at the Nearest Green Distillery in Shelbyville. Master blender Victoria Eady Butler, a fifth-generation descendant of Nathan Green, assembles each batch. The name marks 1884, the year the brand holds that Green last filled his own whiskey into barrels to mature. It is bottled at 46.5% (93 proof) in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Honey and brown sugar lead the nose, with cedar, orange peel, tobacco flower, ginger and white pepper. The palate brings caramel, woody tannins, baking chocolate, cigar leaf, nougat and cinnamon. The finish is long and smooth, with cinnamon, dark chocolate, oak tannin and maple syrup.
