Unknown Islay 26 Year Old Second Witch - Macbeth Collection Act Two (70cl, 49.5%)

Second Witch is a 26-year-old Islay single malt from the second act of the Macbeth Collection, a joint project of Livingstone Rare and Elixir Distillers. It comes from Islay's south coast and matured in an Oloroso sherry butt and a first-fill bourbon barrel. The edition is 750 bottles at 49.5% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Medicinal notes and coal smoke meet rich vanilla and dark dried fruit. Roasted pineapple, blackcurrant, lemon peel and a hint of ash mark the nose. The palate is full and waxy, with mango, honeycomb, black liquorice, wood smoke and a savoury note recalling grilled prawns. The long finish stays sweet and spicy, with a rubbery smoke trailing off.
