Valentin Leflaive Blanc de Noirs Verzenay Grand Cru Extra Brut 2020 Champagne (75cl)

This is an Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Champagne from the Grand Cru village of Verzenay on the Montagne de Reims. Valentin Leflaive was founded by Olivier Leflaive and Erick de Sousa, and the label gives the village, the base year and the dosage of 3 grams per litre. The vines are 55 years old and grow in loamy chalk soils at 160 metres, with a northern exposure that gives coolness as well as power. The nose offers lemon peel, green apple, spring flowers, herbs, red berries and blanched almonds. The palate is medium-bodied with a touch of strawberry, long acidity and a tight structure, ending fresh and fine.
