This is a sweet Marsala Superiore from Vito Curatolo Arini, a Sicilian wine house founded in 1875. It has been aged for at least five years in wooden casks.
The colour is a deep amber, shading from gold to bronze. The nose offers hazelnut, dried figs and chocolate, with vanilla and sweet tobacco from the time in cask.
The palate is full-bodied, with sweetness balanced by acidity. Candied fruit, honey and caramel mingle with sweet spice and a light touch of oak, and the finish is long.
