This is a 10 year old tawny port from W & J Graham's, made in Portugal's Douro Valley and bottled at 20% abv. It is aged for a decade in seasoned oak casks, which give it a deep amber colour, nutty aromas and a velvety texture.
The nose offers hazelnuts, dried figs, caramel and a little vanilla oak. The palate is smooth and rich, with toffee, roasted almonds, honey and dried fruit, balanced by gentle oak spice. The finish is long, with cinnamon, caramel and toasted nuts.
It can be served slightly chilled in a port glass, and works with aged cheese, dark chocolate or crème brûlée.
