Walker's Special Old is a Canadian whisky distilled at the Hiram Walker & Sons Distillery in Windsor, Ontario, where the production heritage goes back to 1858. It is made from a blend of rye, corn and barley whiskies aged in oak barrels for at least three years, and bottled at 40% in a 375ml bottle. The glass is square, with diamond-patterned indents.
The profile is grain-forward, balancing rye spice, toffee sweetness and dry oak.
Sweet corn, rye spice and butterscotch lead the nose, with vanilla and red apple. Peppery rye, cinnamon and caramel open the palate, and the finish is medium and drying, with dark chocolate, citrus zest and ginger.
