Westward – American Two Malts Bridgeport Brewing Co. (75cl, 45%)

This is Westward's first collaboration, in a 75cl bottle at 45% abv. The Portland distillers turned the recipe of BridgePort Brewing into a whiskey, brewing a clone of the brewery's Kingpin Red Ale, which has a relatively high rye content, alongside the BridgePort team. The project was led by Lead Distiller Miles Munroe, who made BridgePort Brewing his home when he first came to Portland from brewing school. The nose offers French roast, toffee and toasted almonds. On the palate there is herbal rye, orange zest and biscuit, and it finishes with pear, candied walnuts and peach rind.
