Westward – Oregon Stout Cask (70cl, 45%)

Westward Oregon Stout Cask is an American single malt that has been finished in casks which previously held stout. The whiskey is fully matured first, then spends about one year in American oak casks seasoned with stout from Oregon breweries, among them Bent Shovel, Breakside, Culmination, Ex Novo, Fort George, Migration and Sky High. The finish adds a roasted chocolate note alongside the toasted character of the malt. It is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in a 70cl bottle. The palate is rich and robust, with roasted grain, stone fruit, toasted pecan and milk chocolate, leading to a bold, dry finish.
