Westward Stout Cask Finish is an American single malt from Westward Distillery in Oregon, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle.
It is made from 100% malted barley, fermented with ale yeast and double pot distilled. The whiskey first matures in new charred American oak barrels, then is finished in stout beer casks from local craft breweries.
On the nose there is roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, toasted oak and a hint of coffee. The palate is rich and creamy, with dark chocolate, brown sugar, roasted nuts, dried fruit and gentle spice. The finish is long and warming, with malt sweetness, espresso and soft oak spice.
