A 10 year old rye whiskey from WhistlePig, in a 375ml bottle. It comes from an aged rye stock found in Alberta, Canada, which was taken out of blending use and bottled by hand as a rye in its own right.
The whiskey was aged in new American oak and given a bourbon barrel finish.
On the nose there is allspice, orange peel, anise, oak, char and caramel. The palate is sweet, with caramel and vanilla followed by rye spice and mint, and the long finish carries warm butterscotch and caramel.
