WhistlePig 15 Year Old Estate Oak is a Vermont straight rye whiskey made from 100% rye grain and bottled at 46% ABV. It is aged for 15 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels.
The final stage is a finish in Vermont white oak barrels made from trees grown on the WhistlePig farm.
The nose brings vanilla bean, caramelised sugar, toasted oak and dried orchard fruit over a soft rye spice. The palate is full-bodied, with baked apple, barley sugar, toasted rye, dark chocolate and warm tobacco. The finish is long and warming, with rye spice returning in waves, oak tannin, soft leather and a faint note of citrus peel.
