WhistlePig 18 Year Old Double Malt is a rye whiskey aged for 18 years. The mash bill is 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley, a nod to early American farmers who malted a small part of their grain to start fermentation.
The rye is said to bring bold, peppery spice, the malted rye soft, floral and earthy character, and the malted barley rich, sweet, toasted notes.
