WhistlePig 18 Year Old Fifth Edition is a rye whiskey aged for 18 years in the barrel. It is distilled from 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley, a nod to the old practice of malting a small part of the rye harvest, which adds floral, earthy character to the grain's peppery spice. The nose is sweet and aromatic, with toasted oak, berries and nutmeg. The palate is elegant and spicy, mildly fruity and floral, with vanilla and oak appearing over time. The finish is long, clean and spicy.
