WhistlePig Rye 10 Year is a straight rye whiskey made from a 100% rye mash and aged for ten years. It is bottled at 50% ABV (100 proof) at WhistlePig Farm in Shoreham, Vermont.
The farm was founded in 2007 and began by sourcing aged Canadian rye distillate, which was finished and bottled in Vermont. Master Distiller Dave Pickerell shaped the flavour profile of this expression.
The nose is honey, vanilla and faint clover with caramel and a subtle herbal rye character. The palate brings caramel, burnt orange and a whisper of smoke, full-bodied and mouth-coating, and the finish is long and creamy with a distinct rye kick.
