Boss Hog III, The Independent, is the third edition of WhistlePig's Boss Hog series. It is a single barrel straight rye aged 10 years and bottled at barrel strength in a 750ml bottle. The name is a tribute to the independent American spirit of Thomas Jefferson and the founding generation.
The rye is Canadian-sourced and matured in Vermont at WhistlePig Farm in Shoreham. It has a rich amber colour.
The nose brings bold rye spice with caramel, dried fruit and vanilla. The palate is powerful and complex, with rye spice, dried fruit and warm oak. The finish is long and spice-forward.
