White Heather 15 Year Old is a blended whisky bottled at 46%, combining Speyside, Islay and North Highland single malts with grain whiskies. It matured first in American ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads, along with some Spanish sherry butts.
After blending, the whisky was moved into Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso puncheons and American virgin oak casks for a second period of maturation at the GlenAllachie distillery. It is golden bronze in colour.
Expect heather honey, butterscotch, orange peel, pineapple and mint on the nose, with a hint of peat. The palate adds treacle, grapefruit and almonds, and the finish brings mocha, ginger and light peaty smoke.
