Wild Turkey – 81 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon (70cl, 40.5%)

Wild Turkey 81 Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40.5%. It is made from the distillery's high-rye mash and filled at Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, into American oak barrels given a number four 'alligator' char. The blend is made up mainly of whiskies between five and eight years old, matured in wood-rack warehouses with no heaters or air conditioning. The colour is a deep, rich amber. The nose offers fruit, butterscotch, toffee and toasted oak, and the palate cigar-box sweetness, caramel, vanilla and pear. The finish is long, with rich spice and hints of toast.
