Wild Turkey – Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey 2013 (75cl, 50.5%)

A single barrel bourbon from Wild Turkey, bottled in 2013 at 50.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery was built in 1935 by the Ripy Brothers, and was known then as Boulevard. Around 1941 the Wild Turkey name arose from a remark about whiskey shared on a hunting trip. The Austin Nicholls company, which had long sourced its whiskey from the Ripys, bought the distillery in 1972. Jimmy Russell, the master distiller whose name is closely tied to the brand, had joined in 1954. The original plant was replaced by a new distillery on the same site in 2011.
