Wild Turkey – Kentucky Spirit Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey 2018 (75cl, 50.5%)

A single barrel bourbon from Wild Turkey, bottled in 2018 at 50.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The distillery stands in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, where the Ripy Brothers built it in 1935 as Boulevard. The Wild Turkey name followed around 1941, taken from a comment on whiskey shared during a hunting trip. Austin Nicholls bought the site in 1972 and renamed it, gaining the contract of master distiller Jimmy Russell, who had started in 1954. His son succeeded him in 2015. A new distillery was built beside the old one in 2011, replacing the Ripy plant after 76 years.
