Wild Turkey Rare Breed is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey bottled at barrel proof. The nose opens with toasted caramel, vanilla and butterscotch, mixed with honey, roasted nuts and sweet apple, then a little orange peel, spring flowers and black pepper. On the palate, caramel and maple sweetness comes first, while the rye adds gentle cinnamon and clove spice alongside oak, tobacco and citrus, in an oily, full texture. The finish is long and warm, with oak, dried fruit and spice and a light peppery touch.
