Willett Family Estate 8 Year Single Barrel 5262 Bourbon (75cl, 61%)

This is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Willett Family Estate, drawn from Barrel No. 5262 after eight years in hand-selected white oak. It was bottled by hand straight from the barrel at 61% (122.0 proof), with no dilution, in a 75cl bottle. The age, barrel number and proof are written on the label by hand, and the bottle has a purple wax-dipped neck. It pours a deep burnished amber. The nose is rich, with dark caramel, vanilla and dried cherry over toasted oak, leather and baking spice. The palate is thick and mouthcoating, with brown sugar, cocoa, cinnamon and stone fruit over firm oak. The finish is long and warming, with seasoned wood, spice and lingering sweetness.
