Willett Family Estate Bottled 4 Year Old is a small-batch rye whiskey bottled at 55% in a 70cl bottle. It comes from the Willett distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, which was founded by Thompson Willett, has made spirits since 1936 and is still family-owned.
The nose offers brandied and tart cherry, cinnamon and baking spices, with a touch of oak as it opens. On the palate dark cherry and burnt vanilla stand out, with lingering spice and a full, rich mouthfeel. The finish is long, led by spice, with the cherry breaking through.
