Willett Family Estate Bottled Small Batch Rye is a four-year-old Kentucky straight rye from the Willett Distillery in Bardstown, bottled at cask strength at 54.9% (109.8 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered. It combines two Willett rye mashbills, one high in rye and one lower, blended to echo the fuller, fruit and spice character of Maryland-style rye. The whisky was aged in hand-selected 53 gallon charred American white oak barrels. The nose brings tart and brandied cherry, baking spice, cinnamon and creamy vanilla. On the palate come dark cherries, charred vanilla, caramel and peppery rye, and the finish is long and velvety with spice, toasted grain and cherry.
