Willett Family Estate Bottled Small Batch Rye is a four-year-old Kentucky straight rye from the Willett Distillery in Bardstown. It marries a high-rye and a low-rye mashbill, and ages them in hand-selected charred American white oak barrels.
It is non-chill-filtered and bottled by hand at cask strength. This batch is 107.6 proof (53.8% ABV), in a 750ml bottle.
The nose opens with tart and brandied cherry, baking spice, cinnamon and creamy vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, with dark cherry, charred vanilla, caramel and peppery rye spice, and the finish is long and velvety, with lingering spice, toasted grain and cherry.
