Willett Family Estate Small Batch Bourbon (75cl)

A Kentucky straight small batch bourbon from Kentucky Bourbon Distillers in Bardstown, made under Master Distiller Drew Kulsveen. It blends two Willett family mash bills: one high in corn (72% corn, 13% rye, 15% malted barley) and one high in rye (52% corn, 38% rye, 10% malted barley). The whiskey goes into new charred American oak barrels at 125 proof. The corn-heavy mash bill brings sweetness and caramel, while the rye-heavy one adds structure and spice. The nose is warm vanilla, caramel and brown sugar with a little baking spice and oak char. On the palate come sweet corn, butterscotch and honey, moving into cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted rye. The finish is long and warming, with oak, pepper and toffee.
