Willett – Old Bardstown Kentucky Straight Bourbon (70cl, 45%)

Old Bardstown Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a Willett bourbon, bottled at 90 proof (45%) in a 70cl bottle. It joined the distillery's range in the 1940s and takes its name from an American thoroughbred racehorse, itself named after the Kentucky town of Bardstown. The mash is 72% corn, 13% rye and 15% barley, fermented with lime-rich Kentucky water, then distilled and matured for several years in new American oak. Current labels reproduce Old Bardstown labels from the family's files, dating from when Thompson Willett was president. It is described as soft honey and vanilla, balanced by floral notes, with a touch of spice and oak.
