A Kentucky straight bourbon from Willett in Bardstown, bottled at 47% (94 proof) in a 750ml hand-blown glass decanter. The decanter is a replica of the patented Willett pot still built by Vendome Copper and Brass.
Introduced in 2008 as a single barrel release, it is now bottled as a small batch of no more than 12 barrels, aged 8 to 10 years. The mash bill is wheated: 65% corn, 20% wheat and 15% malted barley. Each bottle is labelled with its batch number.
The nose brings vanilla lemon cake, jasmine, caramel, sweet corn, cinnamon and ginger, with ripe summer cherry and citrus. The palate is caramel, vanilla, spice and citrus, with honey and maple beneath. The finish is long, warm and dry, with brown sugar, tobacco and oak.
