Williamson 11 Year Old Sansibar Islay Single Malt Sherry Cask (70cl, 53.9%)

This is an 11 year old Islay single malt bottled by the independent bottler Sansibar Whisky under the Williamson name. It was distilled in 2012 at a distillery in the south of Islay and bottled in 2023 from a sherry cask, at a cask strength of 53.9%. The outturn is 207 bottles, in 70cl bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The nose is smoky, with vanilla, heather and a little citrus. On the palate it is dry, with strong smoke, ash, bonfire, salt, vanilla, herbs and light citrus. The finish is long and very dry, herbal and slightly astringent, spicy and warming.
