Wolfburn – Aurora

Aurora is the second commercial release from the Wolfburn distillery in Thurso, the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland. It is named after the northern lights. The whisky matured for three years, 80% in refill American standard barrels and 20% in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at drinking strength, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour. The nose has fine citrus and dried fruit, a strong sherry influence and light malty sweetness. The palate balances nuts and fruit with fine spices behind. The finish is pleasantly warming and very round.
