Wolfburn – Aurora (70cl)

Wolfburn Aurora is a single malt from Wolfburn, the most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland, near Thurso. It is matured in a combination of bourbon barrels, making up 80 per cent, and first fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads, making up 20 per cent. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The present distillery stands about 350 metres from the remains of the original, which was founded in 1821. Building began in August 2012 and the first spirit ran in January 2013. The first Wolfburn whisky was bottled in 2016.
