Wolfburn – Batch 128 (70cl, 46%)

Wolfburn Batch 128 is a Highland single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in small 100-litre first-fill bourbon casks. These experimental casks are believed to have been made for Buffalo Trace in Kentucky, but the cost of using them was judged too high to continue. Wolfburn took them on, and they have given the spirit a considerable depth of flavour as well as the impression of extra age. The spirit was distilled from Concerto barley grown on the Black Isle, a well-regarded growing region near Inverness.
