Wolfburn Batch 318 is the sixth release in the distillery's small-batch series, a single malt bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 4,800 bottles were filled.
It combines lightly peated spirit matured for seven years in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts with spirit matured for seven years in first-fill Bourbon barrels.
The nose brings figs and apricots with soft peat smoke, vanilla and oak. On the palate, honey-laced porridge, stewed apples and sultanas sit alongside gentle oak spice and a touch of peaty heat. The finish holds dried fruit, caramel and lingering peat smoke.
