Wolfburn Batch No.375 is a single malt from Wolfburn, Scotland's northernmost distillery, in Caithness. It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, so both American and Spanish oak shape it. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
Wolfburn was revived in 2013 on the site of an original 19th-century distillery.
The nose brings dried fruits, vanilla, toasted oak and a touch of spice. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with ripe cherries, caramel, honey and subtle smoky undertones. The finish is long and warming, with sweet sherry and gentle oak spice.
