Wolfburn – Langskip (58%)

Wolfburn Langskip is a single malt from the Wolfburn distillery in the north of Scotland. It is matured only in first-fill bourbon casks and bottled at 58%. The name comes from the Norse word for longship, a nod to the Viking raiders who once ruled the Caithness coast. The nose has demerara sugar, gingerbread, floral malt, white pepper and sugared almonds. On the palate, dried fruit such as sultanas and apricots comes through, with walnut and macadamia, while nutmeg and stem ginger add some bite. The finish brings toffee apple sweetness and black pepper.
