Wolfburn – Langskip (70cl, 58%)

Wolfburn Langskip is a single malt from the Wolfburn distillery at Thurso, the most northerly distillery on the Scottish mainland. It was made from unpeated malt and matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks. The casks were chosen mainly for whisky of five years old, with a small share of four-year-old. It is bottled at a batch strength of 58%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, in a 70cl bottle. The name comes from the Viking ship found near Caithness in the north of Scotland. It is described as rich and deep, pleasantly sweet and very well balanced.
