Woodford Reserve is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made in small batches at the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark where bourbon was first made in 1812, and draws on five sources of bourbon flavour.
The appearance is a clear, bright honey amber. The nose has rich dried fruit, mint and oranges dusted with cocoa, with faint vanilla and tobacco spice. The palate is rich, chewy and rounded, with citrus, cinnamon and cocoa alongside toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice. The finish is silky and almost creamy at first, ending in a long, warm tail.
