Woodford Reserve – Kentucky Straight Rye (70cl, 45.2%)

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye is a Kentucky rye whiskey, bottled at 45.2% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from rye, corn, malted barley and spring water, with rye making up 53% of the mash. The master distiller decides how long the whiskey matures and when it is bottled, and each bottle carries a batch and bottle number. The nose is led by rye, with tobacco, pepper, cedar, cinnamon, marzipan and apple. On the palate come grainy rye and malt, clove, honey and apple, along with nutty and woody notes. The finish is fairly long, with a pleasant spicy sweetness.
