Woodford Reserve Malt is a Kentucky Straight Malt Whiskey at 45.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The grain recipe is 51% malted barley, 47% corn and 2% rye, and it is aged in new charred oak barrels.
Because malt makes up just over half of the recipe, it differs from a typical 100% malt whiskey. It is pitched at bourbon drinkers and builds on the nutty character of the original Woodford Reserve.
The nose is soft and nutty, with caramel, milk chocolate and fruit. Dark chocolate and caramel-coated nuts come through on the palate, and the finish is nutty with subtly sweet chocolate malt.
