Woodford Reserve Rye is an American rye whiskey from the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Woodford County, Kentucky. The mash bill is 53% rye, 33% corn and 14% malted barley, and the whiskey matures in heavily charred oak casks.
Black pepper, cedar and cassia bark lead the nose, with floral touches and hints of pear, apple and almond. The palate brings clove, mint and rye alongside molasses, honey and malty tones, and the finish is long, with lingering spicy warmth and a touch of sweetness.
