- Florio Marsala hogshead finish
This is a limited Irish whiskey from the Writers' Tears range, bottled at 45% in a 70cl bottle. Only 950 bottles were filled from a single Florio Marsala cask.
The whiskey was given an extra 12-month finish in a Marsala hogshead. Marsala is a drink from the Italian island of Sicily.
The nose is soft and sweet, with Marsala, caramelised apple, nuts and nutmeg. The palate has plenty of apple and sweetness, with light spice and nuts. The finish is rather short but pleasant, with honey and tropical fruit.
