Yamazaki 12 Year Old is a Japanese single malt and the flagship of Suntory. It is made from malted barley, distilled twice and matured for at least twelve years in a mix of American, Spanish and Mizunara oak.
The nose shows ripe peach, pineapple and fresh grapefruit, with nutmeg, candied orange, vanilla and the aroma of Mizunara. On the palate it is rounded and fruit-led, with coconut, cranberry and a buttery creaminess over a mineral edge.
The finish is long and warming, with a sweetness of ginger and cinnamon.
