Yamazaki 18 Year Old is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Yamazaki, the oldest whisky distillery in Japan. It was launched in 1992 and is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Around 80% of the whisky is matured in sherry butts, and the remainder spent its years in American oak and Mizunara oak casks. The nose brings truffles, thick bitter marmalade, resin, potpourri and heavy Oloroso sherry. The palate is rich and bittersweet, with heather roots, cigar leaves, honey, toffee apples, plum wine and black pepper, and perhaps a touch of rancio. The finish is long and fruity, led by marmalade.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
