This is a 1979 Yamazaki from The Cask of Yamazaki series, matured for 29 years in a Mizunara oak cask, number RF1037, and bottled in 2008.
Mizunara is a Japanese oak that tends to give whisky notes of sandalwood, coconut and Japanese incense. The wood grows slowly and is porous, which makes casks from it difficult to build.
