Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve (70cl, 43%)

Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is a Japanese single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in Bordeaux wine casks, sherry casks and Japanese oak (Mizunara) casks. The distillery states that the sherry portion of the whisky matured for 20 years in sherry casks. The style is fruity, with a soft body and a long finish built on vanilla and cinnamon. The nose offers strawberries, cherries and Mizunara oak. On the palate come raspberries, white peaches and coconut. The finish is vanilla-sweet and clean, with a little cinnamon.
