This is the 2024 Yamazaki Kogei Collection, a limited edition single malt from the Yamazaki distillery in Japan. The design was created with the Chiso kimono house in Kyoto and draws on traditional kimono patterns.
The malt is lightly peated and matured in Spanish oak. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is fruity, with apple, pear, melon, a little citrus, vanilla and icing sugar, over light smoke, wood and a hint of leather. The palate is oily, with vanilla, spice, pepper, some smoke and peat, and a mild sweetness. The finish is medium in length and warm, with vanilla, a little peat and smoke.
