Yamazaki – Limited Edition 2022 (70cl, 43%)

This is the 2022 limited edition from Yamazaki, a Japanese single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery states that the whisky spent at least 12 years in Mizunara oak casks. The bottle wears a Japanese paper label marked with tiger spots, meant to evoke the quality of the wood that shapes the whisky. The box shows an illustration of the distillery's historic storeroom. The nose has pineapple, orange peel and soft nutmeg. The palate is sweet honey, creamy coconut and subtle blueberries. The finish carries vanilla, ginger and a little smoke.
