Yamazaki – Story of the Distillery 2025 Edition (70cl, 43%)

This is a limited edition single malt from the Yamazaki Distillery in Japan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It follows the design of the 2024 edition and tells the story of Shinjiro Torii, founder of Suntory, who pursued his vision for whisky despite opposition. It is a blend of Yamazaki malts, including whisky aged in Mizunara and Spanish oak casks, built on a Mizunara cask base. The label and packaging show an illustration of the drying tower, one of the distillery's historic buildings used for drying malt. The nose is dried persimmon, clove, vanilla and chocolate. The palate has dried fruit, orange marmalade and red bean paste. The finish is smoky and spicy, with lingering chocolate.
