This is the 2025 Edition of Yamazaki Story of the Distillery, a single malt released by Suntory in May 2025 and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is the second in a limited series honouring the distillery's history, its founder and the craft behind its whiskies.
Each annual release covers a chapter of that history. This one follows Shinjiro Torii's determination during the building of the distillery and its early, difficult years. The whisky is matured in Mizunara (Japanese oak) and Spanish oak casks.
The nose has dried persimmon, clove, vanilla custard and dark chocolate. The palate shows orange marmalade, red bean paste, raisin and fig, with sandalwood and coconut from Mizunara. The finish is long, with smoky spice and dark chocolate.

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
